Alok Nandi – Designer / Creative Director

Alok b. Nandi is busy with innovation, strategy and interaction design for multiple companies and institutions, using designerly tools to architect knowledge systems. As a designer, creative director, design strategist, he explores hybrid contexts via Architempo & Klabfab & coCreationcamp. 

His professional experiences cover a range of activities and include a.o. brand and advertising (P&G – Procter & Gamble), film production, exhibition design and new media in publishing (Casterman – publisher of a.o. Tintin, groupe Flammarion), spin-off on augmented realities and creative entrepreneurship.

Alok Nandi is a regular speaker at international conferences and events (incl. PechaKucha Tokyo, TEDx Flanders, IxDA, WDO, SDN) and invited professor in multiple institutions. In parallel, he launched PechaKucha Brussels and IxDA Brussels (Interaction Design Association). Participated in multiple juries (new media, film, design, entrepreneurship, food systems, …).

Alok Nandi is professor of innovation & design at Institut Lyfe, hospitality-culinary school in Lyon, co-founded by chef Paul Bocuse, 3* Michelin and Gérard Pélisson (Accor).

Alok Nandi is dealing with storytelling in multiple media, space and technologies, from high-tech interactive installations to low-tech mise-en-scène. For IxDA, he is busy with initiatives like the Design Declaration and P-R-E with Cumulus Association, Practice meeting Research meeting Education. Alok Nandi chaired Interaction14 in Amsterdam [1000+ attendees] and served on the IxDA Board of Directors, a.o. as President (Feb.2018-Feb.2020).

Alok Nandi – Author & Narrative Architect _ in multiple media

Born in Congo. Raised in Zaïre. Based in Brussels.

Design and technology, media art and sciences.

In parallel to strategic design, Alok b. Nandi is active as author and in multi_media art, with a focus on narrative & interactive, narrative architecture and interactive mise-en-scene.

Background combines electro-mechanical engineering, management and film studies.

He conceived “Satyajit Ray at 70”, book with exhibitions in Cannes Film Festival, Paris, London, Nantes, Aix, Brussels and conferences.
